All three pictures show how teen dating can lead into dangerous problems and violence. Still Life

In this unit, we were required to take pictures of a kitchen utensil and something found in the bathroom. I decided to take a picture of a whisk and dental floss. The elements of art shown in these pictures are shape, color, space, and texture. These elements are displayed throughout the both pictures due to their physical design. The principles of design shown in this pictures are movement and emphasis because the viewer's eyes moves throughout the photo and both the whisk and dental floss are
emphasized.

Surrealist Image

We were assigned to take a surrealist image. A surrealist image is a photo of something that isn't real. In this photo, I cropped out a bear and pasted it on a picture of our school's cafeteria. In this picture the elements of art are line, shape, and texture because of the structure and shape of the cafeteria and bear.

We were assigned to compose a photo in the design of Andy Warhol. In order to complete this picture, I had to use Photoshop. I was able to make this picture by using different layers and filling it with different colors. The elements of art shown in this picture are shape and color. Portrait Pet

We were assigned to take a portrait of a pet and their owner. The objective of this project was to be able to display the relationship between the pet and their owner. I decided to take a formal portrait of the pet and their owner because their relationship between each other is very close and loving. The shape and texture are displayed by the pet, the line is displayed on the floor, and color is displayed throughout the whole photo. We were assigned to take pictures of different types of landscapes. I decided to go to the beach because of the waves and the shapes of the mountains. There's also movement in the waves. In addition the footsteps in the sand show pattern. The whole picture shows value and space and proportion because of the lighting and the mountains and rocks. Stop Motion

This video is a composition of many photos that displays a basketball player improving her lay-ups every time she attempts them. I used Adobe Premiere Elements in order to make this video. I also changed the ISO speed and focus to capture the subject at a pretty good distance and with less blur. The elements in this video are line and space because of the bleachers and the space the subject has in order to move around. The principle of design in this video are movement, unity, and proportion. Movement is displayed in this video because the subject is moving throughout the whole video. Unity and proportion are also displayed because everything in the gym are related towards one another and the subject and the basketball court can be seen as a proportion.

Action Shot

This picture was taken when my friends and I decided to go bowling. I waited for the right time to capture the shot while the bowling ball was going to be released from the subject's hands. I also edited the photo a bit with the help of photoshop. An element displayed in this picture is line because of the bowling lanes. A principle of design displayed in this picture is movement because the subject is moving as she releases the bowling ball and unity because of the bowling lanes and pictures displayed above the area where the pins are placed.

This picture is originally part of a compilation of an autobiography assignment. I chose this picture because I liked how the depth of field was shown unintentionally. I was assigned to take pictures of actors that displayed certain types of emotions. In this photo, the subject portrays a “removed” emotion. An element shown in this photo is value because of the colors in her hair, eyes, and face. A principle shown in this photograph is emphasis because her face is focused on.

This picture is a self-portrait. The purpose of it was to reveal something about me. An element shown in this photo is line because of the structure of the treadmill and the blinds. A principle shown in this picture is movement because the subject in the picture is moving.

Scanner Art

This picture is four different pictures and three different objects put together. With the help of Photoshop, I was able to flatten all these layers into this photo. An element shown in this picture is value because of the different grays, whites, and blacks. A principle shown in this picture is variety because there is different objects and pictures compiled all together.

Photoshop Altered Image

A Photoshop altered image is a photograph changed with the use of Photoshop. In this picture, first I selected the rose and then selected the background to change it to a grayscale type of presentation. An element shown in this photo is shape and form because of the shape the roses show. A principle shown in this photo is emphasis because it’s very focused on the rose and it shows great detail.

Sunprint Image

In this image, I had to use a type of paper that had certain chemicals that was able to capture the shape that the objects when it was shown in sunlight. An element portrayed in this picture is shape and form because of the shapes that were shown by the shadows of the objects. A principle shown in this picture is variety because of the variety of objects shown in the picture.

Principle of Design

In this photo, it had to show some type of principle of design. An element shown in this picture is texture due to the display of the rocks. A principle shown in this picture is mainly unity because it’s a picture of all rocks of different colors put together.

Margaret Bourke-White’s Style Photograph

This picture is in the style of Margaret Bourke-White because many of her photos were in the style of photojournalism. Photojournalism is basically photographs of individuals in their everyday lives. An element shown in this photograph is value because many of the different grays, whites, and blacks shown through the parts of the plane, people, and the sky. A principle shown in this photo is variety because all of the people are doing different things such as being interested in planes, cars, and other things.

Element of Design

The purpose of this assignment is to portray one of the elements of the design. Elements of design are line, shape and form, value, color, space, and texture. In this photo, an element, shape and form, is portrayed through the presentation of the leaves. In addition, a principle of design shown in this photo is unity because of the leaves all together.

Environmental Photograph

The purpose of this picture is to show a person in their environment. The lady in the photo is in her office which is an example of someone in their environment. An element shown in this photo is line because of the desk, computer, and building structure. A principle shown in this picture is pattern because of the lines shown in the building.

Shutter Photo

This photo shows water dripping frozen in time. In order to produce this type of image, I had to use a fast shutter speed on my camera. The element portrayed in this photograph is shape and form because of the shape that the water displays. In addition, the principle shown is movement because water was supposedly moving but was frozen in time thorugh this snapshot.

Ansel Adams Nature Photography

Most of Ansel Adams photography are shown in black and white to reveal value. In addition, his photos are mostly of nature. In order to capture an "Ansel Adams" photograph, you would have to pick specific times of the day to get a satisfying image that displays value, usually sunrise and sunset.

This photo was taken during a camping trip and I realized that it was suitable for an Ansel Adams photo. The element of value is highly expressed through the use of light and dark colors. The objects in the photo display unity because they are related to nature.
